Birthday, Holidays, and other happenings

I guess it is about time for me to get updated here. It has been so busy around here, as I know it has been busy with everyone else. I will start with the first thing that kicked off our busy lives. The weekend before Christmas we had the unfortunate opportunity to take a trip to the emergency room for Mason. He was playing in the living room while we were in the dining room and he had fallen down and started crying. I didn't think he was hurt too bad, so I just picked him up, gave him a hug and told him he was ok. Well, a few minutes later he came to me and was rubbing the back of his head and was whining still. So, I felt the back of his head and I felt something wet. Yes, he had cut his head open. Had I been more observant, I would have noticed it the first time I picked him up because he had bled all over the sleeve of my sweatshirt. Well, airheadedness gets the best of me sometimes. So we took off for the ER. He ended up with three staples in his head. Not stitches, staples. I wasn't too sure about that, but I guess it ended up ok, cause now it looks fine. Here is a picture of what it looked like with the staples in his head.

The next thing on our list was the birthday for Matthew. He turned 3! He was soooooo excited for his birthday. We Kai's parents, my parent's, and Annette and her family here to celebrate. He had a blast.
He got what he always wanted! A LIGHTNING MCQUEEN!!!! Plus another Lightning McQueen, King, and Chick, plus a bunch of toy tools. He was very spoiled!!
Then, there was Christmas! We had MANY generous secret santa's. The boys got more toys that they knew what to do with. They had a hard time opening all of them cause they just wanted to play with one for a while, but Kai and I just wanted to get it all over with. Now, they have about double the amount of toys they had before. Do I need to go through their older toys and give some away??? Probably. We will see if it happens though. We did have a great Christmas though. We were able to spend time with both families. Spent a lot of time with mine playing lots of games. Did I win any?? Of course not, but it was a blast anyhow.

I guess in other happenings, if you haven't already heard or read, or whatever, I am pregnant again. Due the middle of July. We had a very hard time keeping it a secret for over a month. We wanted to make it a Christmas present for our families. It was tough, especially whenever anybody ever talked about being pregnant. It was especially tough to not tell my mom as I was feeling pretty sick when all of the rest of our family was sick, but I couldn't tell her because then she would wonder why. Oh well, it was fun. We are excited/nervous. But we have faith that everything will be ok.
Kai's back is doing somewhat ok. We find out tomorrow if it is healing the way it is supposed to, or if there is more to be done. The physical therapists are working a lot with him, and it seems like that is all he is ever doing, but hopefully it will get him to where he needs to be.
All in all, we had a wonderful holiday season and we look forward to a great new year. I myself am kind of happy that things have slowed down a bit. I was getting worn out. Of course, I guess being sick doesn't help any either. Hope that everyone else has a great new year too!

Wow! I didn't know Mason had to make a trip to the ER! Hopefully it's healing nicely. Again congratulations on another littl Brown baby.

Good Stuff! Well, except for the trip to the ER! I know what you mean about getting rid of old toys to make room for the new...I had to do that last week our house is just too tiny not too. Congratulations, you are such a great mom!

Poor little guy! ER visits are so scary. That is great that you are expecting again. Maybe this time it will be a little Susan! I love the pictures of the boys with your blog title.
