Funny things and sad things

Alright, as I was supposed to go visiting teaching today, Matthew decided to get pink eye AGAIN!!! The last time he had pink eye I was supposed to go visiting teaching. Hopefully this isn't a monthly ritual, and hopefully none of the rest of us get pink eye again. Kai had it over the weekend pretty bad, so I am assuming Matthew got it again from him. I had it a little bit, and Mason had it when Matthew had it. Hopefully it isn't a circular motion. Anyhow, that was my sad thing. But thank goodness for my wonderful visiting teaching partner who was so willing to go by herself, AGAIN.

Funny thing. As Annette posted about funny things her kids have said or done, I thought of something funny that Matthew said the other day that was hilarious. We were in the Jeep driving the other day and some how the word booger came up. Somehow Matthew caught on to that word and for some reason thought it was hilarious. He would say, "Booger, HA." And then laugh really hard. He repeated it over and over again. Of course, he had a hard time saying booger, he kept saying burger, but we knew what he was saying anyhow. He just thought it was the funniest thing ever.

What am I thankful for today? Well, I am thankful for a wonderful Mom who, when I was little, would stay at my bedside for who knows how long to make sure I made it to sleep ok. Poor Mom. I was horrible. I realize how horrible I was now to make her stay awake at wee hours of the night as I had to last night for Matthew. Well, actually it was about 5:00 this morning. I didn't want to be awake of course, and usually he falls right back to sleep, but for some reason, he thought he had to be awake. But, it made me realize how much I am grateful to my mom for doing things like that for me and maybe someday Matthew will be grateful to me for that.

I'm sure both of your boys will be grateful that they had such a sweet and kind mom.
