What a great weekend!

It was so nice to see all of my family that came this weekend for Thanksgiving. Although not a whole lot was done other than eating :) I had a lot of fun. Sorry to those who had to take care of Matthew as he seemed to attach himself to a certain two people (Grandpa and Kris). He had a blast.

Now, it is time to look forward to Christmas. Woohoo! I have, for the past few years, paid more attention to the real meaning of Christmas. I try not to get too caught up in the worldly aspect of Christmas, although sometimes it gets to me. I really just love the feeling of Christmas. The feeling you get when you look out and there is snow on the ground. (Ok, not the depressed feeling, but the good one). The feeling of being in a warm house. The smell of a Christmas tree. The feeling you get when you see pretty light displays. The feeling you get from hearing Christmas music. And...the feeling you get when you hear the Christmas story. Alright, so I am not a great writer and able to tell how and why I like Christmas very well, but I sure love the feeling of it. It is a magical feeling. I look forward to the wonderful givings that happen this year.

I also was very impressed and motivated in Relief Society today as we talked about food storage. Yes, food storage. Now how can that be impressing? Well, they put together a packet of different ideas to get your food storage started and it made it seem a little bit possible for me. They also stressed that it isn't the fact that you have 20 years of food storage, it is all about obedience. Even if you have one can of soup, if that is all you can do, at least you are doing it. That made me feel a little bit better about it. But they gave out a sheet that listed something you can buy with around $5 every week for the year and by the end of the year you would have enough to feed 2 people for a whole year. Kind of cool. If anyone would like that list or where to find it, let me know. Anyhow, that was my motivation, maybe now it needs to be my New Year's Resolution.

I sure miss Matthew! (Well, I miss you all!) I loved playing with him- really- it meant the world to me! Sorry we didn't get to say goodbye... but thank you for the fun weekend. It was much needed!
