It's about time

I thought it was about time to write on our blog again, yes I know I am bad. There really hasn't been a whole lot happening lately, although it seems we have been busy busy busy. I guess it is because we have had visitors up/down here for us to visit. It's also kind of crazy because all the visitors seem to be coming at the same time. Oh well, we try to spread our love equally. On the weekend that we went to Guernsey, my brother Peter and his fam came and so did Kai's sister Jade and her fam. I hope everyone felt that we loved them. We tried to see everyone that weekend.

The next weekend was Kai and my birthday's. We didn't really do a whole lot but spend time together and we also went to the derby. I guess we did take the boys to the fair. They both absolutely loved seeing the animals. Matthew even still asks about them. He is a big animal person. The derby was nice to go to as I didn't have to worry about Kai getting hurt or anything. I hope enjoyed watching it as much as he likes to be in them. Also, this weekend was when my sister Caroline and her family came to visit. We spent Sunday with them and played games and ate lots of food, which is what we usually do anyway. Her kids are growing up too fast. I guess we need to go down to visit everyone down there more often. Then on Monday we went up to Barry's Landing to have a picnic with them. That was fun. Maybe would have been more fun if Kai was there. He would have helped a lot with a little Matthew who wanted to just wander off all the time. But it was fun anyhow. When we got back to my parent's house we pretty much were rained in. There was so much water it was about to come into their house. Crazy.

This weekend I don't know of a whole lot other than we are going to go to Lily Lake with some friends. I hope it is warm enough, it has almost felt like fall these past few days.

In other news, an update on Kai. We finally made it in to see the spinal surgeon. One of the first things he said was..."I knew you'd be back." Which I was a little frustrated at. If he knew he would be back, why didn't he just operate on him the first time he saw him 2 years ago. Whatever...Kai is going to have surgery. We don't know the exact date yet as his secretary had to coordinate schedules with the other surgeon and let him know. There are two ways they can do it. Through the front or through the back. If they do it through the back it only takes the spinal surgeon. If they go through the front they need the general surgeon there too. So, it depends on what they find out with the general surgeon. If he is too busy then they will go through the back. He seemed pretty optimistic and that he wouldn't have any more pain afterwards. He said it is an "easy fix." We are way excited. I know, surgery is a big thing, but we are excited to have Kai not be in anymore pain like he has been. Imagine all the things he will be able to do when he can actually move.

The boys are doing great. Matthew is just talking away. He has a very cute sense of humor and is a lot of fun to be with. Mason is growing big and...well, he isn't walking yet. But he is trying. He is starting to be a big climber. Wants to be like his big brother I guess.

I am...well, I am. I just try to stay busy and keep everything up to date and clean. That's about all I do but if you were to come to my house you wouldn't know I was even trying. I guess that's how it goes though.
