As I have pondered today about what in the world to write on my blog that is even worth writing about, as I don't do a whole lot other than clean the house and take care of crying children, I have thought a lot about happiness. I find it interesting that a lot of people in the world think, "Oh if only I had money, I could do.... and be happy" Well, as I have been thinking today, as all of you probably already know what I am going to write, money really doesn't bring happiness. The things that I have thought today that bring me happiness...wasn't brought about by money at all.
1. Of course is my family. I am so happy when I am with my husband and two beautiful boys. They bring me the most happiness of all.
2. The gospel. I find, as many probably have, that when I go to church and am doing the things I am supposed to be doing, I am just happy. We had the missionaries over for dinner last night and it was just so amazing how happy we were when they were here visiting with us. Even Kai kept saying, man that felt good. It must have been something we needed to do. I find it funny that when I went back to church after having Mason everyone was saying, "Oh you are so brave." I never understood it. In my mind, if I feel good enough to go, go. It felt weird just missing the week that I did. Just didn't have the spiritual uplifting that I need and get every week.
3. Service. I haven't had people to go visiting teaching to since we moved back to Powell, which has been what, 8 months. I have noticed a difference. Not only do I not get out and see people, which is a needed thing for me anyway, but I don't get to serve. I have noticed a complete difference. The reason I don't have people to visit teach? Well, that's just what the Relief Society President decided since I was pregnant and now have a newborn. Sure wish I could go though. I guess I just need to go out and serve and visit people anyway.
4. Hardwork and accomplishment. Notice how when you accomplish something you feel so much better. Well, I don't have that feeling cause I don't seem to accomplish anything at my house. :) No, I just love the feeling of accomplishing something really great. Even if it is something small. If that makes sense.
As I have rambled on and on I hope I have made someone's day brighter or have helped them to realize that there really are things that can make us happy without having to have money. I guess it is really true what the song says, we need to "Count our many blessings." It is a wonderful life, if we just look at the little things.
