Leaves are Falling all around

Did I ever mention how I love fall and the beautiful colors? I love the fresh crisp air that characterizes fall too. Well, I am afraid that is about to "fall" too soon. It is freezing today and there are winter storm warnings for this weekend. Ugh! I am not ready for winter. Oh well, I guess that is just what happens, but I was hoping it would wait another month or two. Maybe, just maybe, it will end up warming up after this storm for a little bit. I guess I won't get my hopes up though.

We have been really busy these days. It seems like we went from doing absolutely nothing and being bored all of the time to have pretty much no free days. I am not saying the we don't have free time because the free time we have we fill up with fun stuff or just other things that aren't so bad, but still. It seems like we haven't had a free night for the past couple of weeks. It's crazy! Poor Matthew has been thrown off his schedule quite a bit. Maybe we will get back on it soon. But it all has been good for us.

One of the things that we have done this week, as you can see on our blog, is getting new family pictures. Thank you Annette for doing our pictures. We absolutely love them. Even though she probably will never read this, as she has no internet, but I can publicly say thank you anyway. She did a WONDERFUL job I think. Especially in the short amount of time we had. It was starting to get dark.

Another thing we did this week was go to the Fire Hall's open house. We thought that Matthew would love it. He liked it ok, but we decided that he would probably rather be in a tractor than a fire truck. But we got a picture of him in one anyway. It also could have been the fact that there were soooooo many kids there as the elementary kids had a coloring contest and they also got to name one of the fire trucks. But it was fun to get out and do something like that anyway. And plus, Kai has been wanting to be a fireman for a long time so he got to talk to one of them and now he gets to go to a meeting with them on Monday to see what he needs to do. Pretty cool. He asked if it was ok if he became a fireman and I said it was just as like as he didn't go into any high rise buildings and then fall down from the floor being burnt. You know, like in Ladder 49. I don't think he'll have many opportunities of high rise buildings. :)

Anyhow, we have done plenty of other things, but those are the most fun that we have done. And it seems like we just keep getting busier. I was talking to my visiting teaching partner today and she said that she had so many projects that she has. I responded saying, so do I and I keep adding more and more and I can never seem to get any of them done. My goal for these next couple of weeks though is to finish the book I am reading and finish reading the Twilight series. I started the third one, but another couple of books came along that I needed to get read before they had to go back to the library. So, yes, I have a lot of reading to do. A lesson I need to get ready for Sunday, scrapbooking items, and a few other projects. Craziness!! It's all fun and games though, at least none of them are really all that pressing.
